One Of Us Is Lying is a 2021 American mystery television drama series that is adapted from the 2017 novel of the same name written by Karen M. McManus.
The series is developed by Erica Saleh and revolves around the 5 high school students who have been detained one among them loses his life under some mysterious situation and hence an investigation emerges to unravel the mystery.
The first season of the drama series aired on October 7, 2021, on Peacock and gathered a lot of praises and positive reviews from critics as well as viewers. The series has an IMDB rating of 6.9 out of 10 and 89 percent of Rotten Tomatoes.

One Of Us Is Lying Season 2 Release Date
The renewal of the series for another season was announced by Peacock on January 14, 2022. Considering the fact that filming has not started yet, we may expect the upcoming season to come out by early next year.
In a statement, Lisa Katz, said “The fandom behind the series is incredibly passionate and we can’t wait to deliver more twists and turns that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.”
Furthermore, Beatrice Springborn, president of UCP, stated “From the moment we saw the pilot Erica [Saleh, showrunner] wrote, we knew this was a special show and we’re thrilled that Peacock felt the same,” adding “Returning to shoot in New Zealand with Erica as showrunner for season two is an exciting next chapter in the wild and fun story of the Bayview Four.”

As of now, no official announcement has been made about the cast of the second season of the series, though we can expect the main cast to return to reprise their roles from the first season. Check out the below-expected cast for the forthcoming season:

One Of Us Is Lying Season 2 Plot
Before getting into the expected plot of the second season let’s dig into where the first season left us. In the first season, the fact behind the death of Simon (portrayed by Mark McKenna) unraveled following specifically chaotic detention. Hence, in the second season, we may see dealings with an entire new mysterious murder.
However, sadly, this time Jake (portrayed by Barrett Carnahan) who took up with that chalk outline around his body, following his contribution was revealed in the mysterious death of Simon.
It seems like Simon had always wanted to give himself anaphylactic shock by gulping down peanut oil which he had mixed in his water, as a part of a risky prank just to threaten his classmates.

Although, the prank was taken to the next level by where he intentionally hid Simon’s EpiPen in an attempt to frame his girlfriend Addy, who he’d learned had betrayed him.
Following she learned of all this, Addy proceeded to face off Jake with Cooper and Janae accompanying her. The thing that made it worse for them is when Jake got shot and lost his life. Now, among three of them, one is responsible for this killing but who has done that is still not revealed.
The second season will most probably cover that and answer the question left at the end of the first season.
