Tommie Harris was living the life of his dreams. He was a two-time collegiate All-American, a three-time NFL Pro Bowl defensive tackle, and in his eight years in the league, he earned millions of dollars. Ashley, his newlywed wife, later pἀssed away in 2012.
“My wife was entering for a breἀst reduction procedure. For 41 days, we [were] married, Harris recently told Fox News. “I was flying… I never expected to receive a phone call after we land saying my wife stopped breathing on the table and I needed to head to Oklahoma right away.
Check out what Tommie Harris tells Fox News about the pἀssing of his wife and child:
Harris said for The Players’ Tribune in 2017: “I had about $25 million in the bank when I lost Ashley, and not one dollar had been able to help her.” I would have sacrificed everything to save my wife if it had been possible.
She had an aneurysm in her brain. Ashley’s deἀth after 11 days on life support left Harris in shock, the father of two kids, and confused about what to do next.
He waited four years before starting a new relationship, and they later had a child together. The infant pἀssed away from Sudden Infant Deἀth Syndrome at the age of 4 months.
When Harris looks in the mirror, he sees “a miracle every day,” adding, “I look at a miracle every day when I see that I’m not in a straitjacket or [have] lost my mind for what I’ve been through.” “I’m a living example. Every day, God works through me to inspire me to go above and above for others.

In the Austin region where he resides, Harris has devoted himself to charities such as The Boys and Girls Club of America, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, and Pros for Africa. In April, he delivered a speech at the “Men’s Rewired” Conference of the Baptist General Convention.
According to Harris:
“I’m now having a personal, personal relationship [with God]… learning about God through personal experience, through losing my wife, losing my child.” “Through difficulties, my faith has grown more… Your difficulty, your suffering, and your discomfort draw you nearer to God.”
God can solve all of those issues, and by having faith, I’ve been able to bring about a belief that grows and develops every year. God is using me to illustrate the value of life and the fact that anything can happen at any time. Are you giving every situation your all? When you have confidence in God, you know He would never burden you beyond your capacity.
