The first season of the Canadian animated comedy television series Total Drama, developed by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, is called Total Drama Island (or TDI for short). The series debuted on Teletoon in Canada on July 8, 2007, and aired for 26 episodes, each of which lasted 22 minutes, with the exception of the season finale, which went for 44.
Total Drama Island Plot
A stunning panorama of the primary location for this season (which is artificially recreated in the next season). The island is also featured in Seasons 4 and 5.
The novel is based on a made-up reality show called Total Drama Island, which follows 22 naive and clueless high school students as they compete on the island of Camp Wawanakwa, described as “the most dilapidated, insect-infested, nasty island in an undisclosed section of Muskoka, Ontario.”
Each week, the campers face more difficult and deadly challenges and competitions in an effort to stay on the island and avoid being “voted off.” The winner of the series will get $100,000 (around $73,129) in Canadian currency. Chris McLean hosts the competition with the help of the camp’s cook, Chef Hatchet, who is also Chris’s best friend despite their rough times together. Chris is egotistical and immoral; he puts the show’s contestants in perilous situations unless it directly affects him legally.

Total Drama Island Episodes
The first episode of Total Drama Island aired on Teletoon on July 8, 2007. Each episode in this season is 22 minutes long, and there are two extended episodes.
With a U.S. rating of either “TV-PG” or “TV-PG-D,” and a parental guidance warning after every commercial break and at the opening of the show, it was the third Cartoon Network show outside of Adult Swim and Toonami to have such a rating (the first two being Sunday Pants and IGPX). The original Canadian rating was G, whereas the current one is PG.
