As a matter of fact, Halle even explained her modern take on the role of Ariel to STYLECASTER in January 2022 and said, “I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by some updates of the themes of the film. More so on Ariel’s side of women empowerment and taking her power back.”

Even Awkwafina will be voicing the gender-swapped Scuttle, the seagull who will voice for Ariel when she goes voiceless. Even Lin-Manuel and Rob Marshall are in the cast.

Can you imagine who is playing Ursula? Well, it is none other than the very famous Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy. She once told People Magazine, “I have such an affection for Ursula. But who will be Eric? Initially, it was rumoured to be Harry Styles. But keeping aside all of these rumours, it is actually going to be Jonah Hauer-King. And for Sebastian, it will be Daveed Diggs. Jude Akuwudike will be Grimsby, the loyal butler of Eric. Other cast members are Noma Dumezweni for the role of Carlotta, Eric’s housekeeper, Lorena Andrea and Kajsa Mohammad for the respective characters Perla and Karina.
