I didn’t get pregnant until maybe six months after we wrapped; some of the programs hadn’t even been broadcast yet. She continued, “I think there was some discussion with Nickelodeon of, ‘Do we run these episodes?’ and I think that discussion was warranted.”
But the series ended after its initially planned run, and no new season deals were ever discussed. The two of us were just too old. It’s finished.”
When Did Zoey 101 Conclude, and How Did It End?
In May of 2008, Nickelodeon broadcast the series’ final episode, effectively ending the show’s run and bringing closure to its legion of devoted viewers. In the episode, viewers witnessed Zoey and Chase answer questions from incoming PCA students.
The episode featured multiple flashbacks to their younger selves as the characters aged together. In the previous episode, set at the school’s end-of-year prom, many of the characters had already reconciled and publicly announced their love for one another.
In 2015, Jamie explained to Huff Post that the cliffhanger was intentional. The real script, that was all there was to it. The idea was to let the reader choose the conclusion.
Jamie has stated that she always thought the show’s two central characters, Zoey and Chase, would end up together. For the final season’s time capsule, she said, “Everyone always asks me what I put in it, and I’m like, ‘It’s a show. I didn’t put anything!'”
