Mayim Chaya Bialik was born on December 12, 1975, in San Diego, California. Her mother’s name is Beverly and her father’s name is Barry Bialik. Jewish immigrants from the Bronx in New York City made up her family. Mayim Bialik had four grandparents who came to America from Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary with small net worth.
She was raised as a Reform Jewish Her name, Mayim, which translates to “water” in Hebrew, was given to her by her great-grandmother Miriam. Her great-great-great-grandfather was the poet Hayim Nahman Bialik, who wrote in Hebrew.
