Blown Away is a reality glassblowing competition written by Ron Carroll and Amy Hosking. The series was created for the Canadian channel “Makeful”. Marblemedia picked the show for production whereas it is distributed by Blue Ant Media and Netflix.
The first season of the show aired on February 20, 2019, and ended on April 24, 2019, with a total of 10 episodes. The show gained immense popularity and was later picked for a ten-episode second season which premiered on Netflix on January 22, 2021.
It has an IMDB rating of 7.1 out of 10 and 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Now the show’s fans are excited to know about Blown Away Season 3 and here’s everything we know so far about it.
Blown Away Season 3 Release Date
Blown Away is officially renewed for Season 3 and it is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2022. It is also most likely to consist of ten episodes like in previous seasons.
Blown Away Format
Blown Away has achieved success in popularising Glass Blowing internationally. There will be 10 participants who will compete to win the title of Best In Glass with a cash prize of $60,000. In addition to the cash prize, the winner would also be entitled to a residency at the Corning Museum of Glass.
The glassblowers compete simultaneously in a personalized-developed facility in which ten glassblowers can work at a time. The facility was built under consultation with industry experts.
The contestants compete with each other as they make their pieces and blow them out during the course of the episode. The glassblowers show their work to the judges.
Blown Away Season 3 Judges & Host
Nick Uhas, who is an actor, former competitive inline skater, a YouTuber, and a TV host is all set to serve as the host of the show. Apart from his Big Brother past, he is popular for hosting The Weather Channel’s ‘BrainStorm’ show as well as his YouTube channel under the name Nickipedia.
The chief judge of the show will be Katherine Gray, a popular Canadian glass artist. She is a lecturer at California State University, San Bernardino. A series of her works have been showcased at the Corning Museum of Glass and several other glass museums worldwide.
A special guest evaluator from a different field, who loves glassblowing features in each episode. Hence, Uhas and Gray are expected to return in Blown Away season 3 with a new batch of contestants and guest evaluators.
Deborah was the winner of Blown Away Season 1 whereas Elliot won the second season. Moving to Blown Away Season 3, the names of the contestants are not revealed as of now. We will update this section as the information with regard to this is available.
