A Look at Jann Mardenborough’s Remarkable Journey
Jann Mardenborough is a British professional race driver who was born on September 9, 1991. He defeated 90,000 competitors to emerge as the third and youngest winner of the GT Academy competition in 2011. Having only previously participated in sim racing, he had never before taken motorsport competition seriously.
However, he was rewarded with a drive for Nissan at the Dubai 24-Hour event. He went on to participate full-time in the GP3 Series, Formula 3 European Championship and British GT Championship. In 2013, he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished third in the LMP2 class.
In the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship, he raced for Nissan Motorsports, although the team withdrew from the competition after just one race due to an extremely uncompetitive car.
He has since competed in races throughout Japan, mostly in the Super GT and Super Formula divisions. He finished second in Japanese Formula 3 and was a race winner in the GT300 class of Super GT in 2016.
He advanced to the elite GT500 class in 2017 and raced there until the end of 2020, finishing on the podium once. In his lone Super Formula season, he finished on pole. He did very hard work to reach this stage.
