What is Nathan Finney’s Cause of Death?

On November 22, 2023, Nathan Finney lost his life in a Cirrus plane crash near Shelbyville. Finney and flying instructor Warren Bruhl were the only persons on board when the Cirrus SR 22T crashed on November 22, approximately 25 miles southeast of Indianapolis, in a cornfield close to Shelbyville Municipal Airport.

After the plane crashed, it caught fire. Finney had just bought the plane and was in the process of learning to fly. On November 22, at 4:05 p.m., the aircraft took off from Bloomington’s Monroe County Airport. At 4:46 p.m., it was last spotted close to Shelbyville.

The collision is being looked at by the National Transportation Safety Board. A recording device was found and an investigator will gather witness accounts, airplane track information, recordings from air traffic control and surveillance footage from the area. Within 30 days, a report on the crash will be released.

Bruhl had a job at Gambit Aviation. Bruhl’s passing was verified by the corporation in a Facebook post yesterday. They posted:

“Please bear with us as we mourn the loss of one of our own. On Wednesday, Warren was involved in a tragic accident in a Cirrus – and our hearts break for him, his family, and his friends.”

“RIP, friend until we meet again… Nathan Finney was more than a good restauranteur. Working for him was my favorite, and anyone who knows me knows that I hold The Tap as it was when I worked there as the gold standard.”

“He created a workplace that felt like home. He loved that we called ourselves “Tap Fam” and it brought a huge smile to his face that we always sat down together for a meal and a beer after our shift. Working at other restaurants, this is often forbidden. You’re profoundly missed.”

Lucas Finney posted:

“At an immense loss for words. Though we both never knew for sure whether we were actually related, he was family to me. Nathan Finney never failed to be the first to text me a “happy birthday cuz” on my birthday or call and meet up when he would visit Vegas. Please keep Nathan’s family in your prayers. I sure will miss you cuz.”
