Landon Barker Opens out About his Battles with Alcoholism
The son of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, then 20 years old, admitted he had a “bad habit with alcohol” around the time his father was hospitalized in June 2022 with pancreatitis. Landon Barker, who has “always struggled” with OCD, ADHD, and anxiety, stated that alcoholism caused him to dissociate from his body and go through “the most awful experience.”
As he explained to People in an interview published on October 16, “it kind of started with: I would drink, and then the day after, I would disassociate really bad,” which led to his heavy drinking. “It was like, oh, I’d feel better the second that I had a drink, and so yeah, it kind of just all started and it all kicked up really fast.”
Landon Barker already struggled with mental health issues before he suffered a concussion, and he “just hated life for three or four months.”

“I remember I would just go to the hospital once a week just because I would have such bad panic attacks from everything that was going on,” said the performer. “The disassociation happened first and then it all just got worse when I went through my concussion.”
Derealization is a mental health condition that causes a person to feel disconnected from their body, feelings, and environment, and Landon Barker eventually sought help thanks to his strong support system, which included his stepmom Kourtney Kardashian and girlfriend Charli D’Amelio.
When asked about his struggles, he said;
“I’ve learned how to deal with my anxiety, my OCD, my ADHD, and my dissociation,” calling treatment “helpful” in his recovery. “I’ve learned all these tips and tricks and research so much, so I honestly did come out with a lot of knowledge on all of the stuff that I suffer with.”
