Terry Price, the defensive line coach of Texas A&M pἀssed away on June 23, 2023. He was 55 years old when he dἰed.

Texax A&M shared a tweet after hearing the news of Terry Price’s deἀth:

“A legend on the playing field and the sidelines, it is with heavy hearts we móurn the loss of Terry Price and offer our deepest condolences to Coach Price’s family and friends.”

His cause of deἀth is unknown yet. Former Texas A&M defensive line coach Price, who spent 28 years working in the SEC, returned to his alma institution in 2012 under Kevin Sumlin and stayed there under Jimbo Fisher, the current head coach.

Jimbo Fisher said:

“Terry was not only a great Aggie, football coach and recruiter, he was an even better husband, father and man.”

Jose de Jesus Ortiz, a sports columnist shared a tweet in which he mentioned a statement by Jimbo Fisher:

Students of Texas shared condolences after his deἀth. One student wrote, “RIP to one of my favorite coaches of all time! Coach TP!!”

Another user wrote, “Coach Price was and always will be one of the most impactful people in my life.”

Off the field, Price was well renowned for both his outgoing demeanor and his barbecue prowess. Each year, he ran the smokers for his D-line BBQ. As a renowned recruiter, Price signed and led players at Texas A&M like Justin Madubuike, DeMarvin Leal and Myles Garrett, who later went on to be selected first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He worked with Quentin Groves, the Tigers’ all-time sacks leader at Auburn. With Price’s assistance, Texas A&M finished the 2020 season ranked No. 4 and led the SEC in defense finishing third nationally in rush defense.

Price was recruited by Jackie Sherrill and R.C. Slocum, his defensive coordinator out of the Dallas area. He played for both head coaches and was chosen for the All-Southwest Conference his senior year. After serving in the NFL for two years, Price returned to A&M in 1992 and assisted Slocum with his graduate work as he pursued his degree.
