After announcing his decision to sign with the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens is leaving Bayou City. The 27-year-old who just got married shared the news in an Instagram post.

The picture shows Owens and his wife, Simone Biles, who is from Houston and has won four Olympic gold medals. They are sitting at a table at Lambeau Field as the former practice squad player signs what looks like his new deal.

A framed photo of Packers Hall of Famer Bart Starr leading a group hangs in the background. Owens wrote –

“New beginnings. Perfect cap to an amazing week. Let’s get to work.”

Biles also posted a picture of Owens signing his new contract. Biles wrote –

“Slight wedding content intermission to say GO PACK GO.”

“so proud of you baby! here’s to new beginnings! year 6! LFG!”

Do you know that the Baltimore Ravens said that Odell Beckham Jr., a free agent wide receiver, had signed a one-year deal with the team? Beckham Jr. put pictures of his son in a Ravens shirt and hat on Instagram after he heard the news:

Owens and Biles have certainly had a busy few weeks, as they first sealed the knot at the Harris County courthouse in April 2023 and then again in Mexico.

Biles told a friend, per Alexandra Macon of Vogue, that they had to get married “legally” in the U.S. because their wedding will be held somewhere else.

If you want to know how their second gala went, you can watch a video that Owens shared of their welcome party in Mexico. There was a lot of linen, dancing, and music by Cloverland, Houston’s own Lil’ Flip.

As for Owens’s new contract, we don’t yet know what it says. Still, it’s a big step for the Missouri Western defender who wasn’t picked up in the draft. Owens finished second in tackles for the Texans during the 2022-23 season, which was no small feat for a player who had been cut from the team’s roster prior to the regular season on four distinct occasions.
