In 1999, Alex Borstein and Jackson Douglas tied the knot and in 2014, Borstein demanded a divorce. The divorce between Alex Borstein and Jackson Douglas is complete.
Court paperwork indicates that Douglas and Borstein split their royalties and residuals from their time spent married. Douglas filed for divorce from his wife after 14 years of marriage in 2014. There was apparently no prenuptial agreement between them, as per TMZ reports.
Borstein has been the voice of Lois Griffin on the Fox cartoon sitcom Family Guy since 1998 and she reportedly earns $220,000 per month for her role. Borstein and Douglas who played Jackson Belleville on Gilmore Girls have agreed to divide their $5.2 million into joint bank accounts down the middle.
They’ll keep three accounts in joint names and each of their kids Barnaby and Henrietta will have their own. Neither party will provide financial assistance for the other’s children or spouse. The couple has three condominiums in a Pasadena structure which they own outright.
Two will go to Borstein and one to Douglas. In addition to the $1.2 million New York City condo, Douglas will receive property in Washington state. Except for a $25,000 custom-built bar that will belong to Borstein, the couple will divide furnishings, jewelry and artwork evenly.
When asked about her divorce Borstein said in a post:
“Don’t get married, If you believe in romance and if you believe in marriage you also have to believe in divorce.”
“It’s not enough to want to go to people’s weddings and kids’ birthday celebrations. You should see everything for yourself. We’re simply here as believers and witnesses.”
She continued:
“You have to ride the highs and lows. It’s also crucial to recognize when you’ve reached the peak of an endeavor and are ready to let go”.
“The difficult task of knowing. It’s hard to recognize that when you’re in the middle of it, but perhaps that’s for the best. If you want to put in the effort and see results, you shouldn’t expect to see them right away”.
