Brooke Shields, who was catapulted to fame at a young age became an instant Hollywood legend thanks to her striking good looks and contentious acting choices.

American actress and model Brooke Christa Shields was born on May 31, 1965. She started out as a child model and became famous for her starring role in Beautiful Baby, directed by Louis Malle when she was just 12 years old (1978).

She remained a model well into her late teenage years and had a successful acting career throughout the 1980s, with roles in films like The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Endless Love (1984) by Franco Zeffirelli (1981).

Shields took a break from the modeling industry to earn a bachelor’s degree in Romance languages from Princeton University in 1983. Shields made a comeback to acting in the 1990s, mostly playing bit parts.

In addition, she was the lead in two NBC comedies, Lipstick Jungle for which she won a Golden Globe and Suddenly Susan. In the nineteenth season of NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which began airing in 2017, Shields was cast in a significant recurring role.

In Mr. Pickles and Momma Named Me Sheriff animated series on Adult Swim, Shields provided the voice of Beverly Goodman. Unlike Beautiful Baby, this touching documentary has received universally positive reviews. Critics were moved by Shields’s honesty and the film’s powerful message.

There have been a lot of excellent documentaries focusing on famous people and their lives behind the scenes. Now, on April 3, 2023, the public can hear the celebrity’s side in Pretty Baby: Brook Shields. The documentary was directed by Wilson and won an Oscar and it is available to watch on Hulu.

The actor and model finally talk about her humble beginnings in Hollywood in this two-part documentary that debuted at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Shields says in a teaser:

“I spent my life owing people things and doing whatever they wanted, I finally asked myself, ‘What will I be if I don’t allow that anymore?”
