Three children and three @dults were k!lled when a gunman opened fire at a private Christian elementary school in Nashville on Monday, March, 27, 2023, according to authorities. Authorities said they sh0t and k!lled the suspect at Covenant School in the city’s Green Hills suburb.
On Monday afternoon, Nashville police released the names of the victims: 9-year-old children Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney and staff members Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61.
According to the Covenant website, Koonce oversaw the school and earned degrees from Vanderbilt and Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville and a master’s from Georgia State University.
According to Aaron, Hill worked as a custodian at the school and Peak was serving as a substitute teacher when the sh00ting occurred.
According to CNN report, this is the 19th school or university sh00ting this year in which at least one person was injured. A high school student in Colorado sh0t and w0unded two teachers last week and was later found de@d of an apparent self-inflicted gunsh0t w0und.
Six people were k!lled in the incident on Monday, March, 27, 2023 making it the bl00diest school sh00ting since the May 2018 sh00ting in Uvalde, Texas, which took the lives of 21 people.
According to their website, The Covenant School was established in 2001 as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church and serves students in preschool through sixth grade. According to Aaron, there are usually around 40-50 teachers and pupils at the school.
Drake said two “AR-style weapons” (a rifle and a pistol) and a third handgun were used in the incident. According to the police chief, two of the firearms may have been legally purchased in the area.
Earlier on March 27, 2023 Drake said that the family of the three kids had been contacted and that they had been positively identified.
Drake said:
“Right now I will refrain from saying the ages other than to say, I was literally moved to tears to see this and the kids as they were being ushered out of the building,”
Drake told reporters:
“When we send our kids to school, or to any place of safety, we expect them to live, learn, have fun and come back from that day’s experience. We don’t anticipate things like this”.
The governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee has stated that he is closely monitoring the awful situation at Covenant in the aftermath of the k!lling.
