The Illinois man accused of shooting his estranged wife is a former “Family Feud” participant who reportedly said that getting married was his “worst mistake.” His wife was a decorated nurse and the mother of three.
Police in Quincy, Illinois, reports that on February 23, 2015, they discovered the body of Becky Bliefnick, who had been shot to de@th in her house on February 23. Three years prior, Timothy Bliefnick appeared on an episode of “Family Feud” alongside his parents and brothers.
“What’s the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?” host Steve Harvey said in an episode that aired in January 2020.
Bliefnick’s response, “Honey, I love you, but,’ said I do,'” was met with a mixture of laughter and gasps from the audience. According to the local ABC affiliate, the program was filmed in the fall of 2019.
Via his lawyer Casey Schnack, Bliefnick has repeatedly claimed not to be responsible for his wife’s mu*der. Schnack said on Wednesday that the comment made on “Family Feud” was merely a joke and had nothing to do with the couple’s decision to divorce.
It’s a game show,” she summed up. A killer can’t be made by giving a ridiculous response to a ridiculous question on a ridiculous show. After filming “Family Feud,” Bliefnick commended Harvey’s design selections in an interview with the local ABC affiliate KHQA.
“My big brother wore this white and floral sport coat and it obviously attracted Steve’s interest, and then my younger brother had blue suede shoes on, so they got into a commentary thing which was wonderful to see,” he told the station.
Bliefnick has gone through several changes since his “Family Feud” appearance and the start of the divorce process, including growing out his hair and switching to a private TikTok account for his jokes.
Several of the films, which show Bliefnick peering into the camera while holding a coffee mug, were backed up by Twitter user @901Lulu before Bliefnick blocked access.

Tim Bliefnick was a standout football player at Quincy University, the local Catholic university, where he and his wife both earned degrees. The university stated that he would enter the program’s hall of fame in the next autumn of 2019. Nevertheless, when we checked on Wednesday 15 March, his name was nowhere to be found on the list of inductees.

After Tim Bliefnick ’05 graduated, it was announced that he had concluded his football career with 287 tackles, good for fourth all-time at his school. When he was a senior in 2004, he had 104 tackles, which put him in fourth place all-time.
Also, he was named to many all-conference teams and received the Mart Heinen Award as a senior for being one of the “most outstanding male and female senior athletes at Quincy University.”
Becky, on the other hand, was valedictorian at her Catholic high school and went on to become a highly regarded nurse who received a Daisy Foundation award during the height of the coronavirus pandemic for her assistance to the wife of a man who needed immediate surgery.
Tim was arrested earlier this week and accused of mu*dering Becky. On 15 March, a judge will hear arguments about the custody of the couple’s three sons after the mother’s de@th and the father’s incarceration.
The Becky family has started a GoFundMe to raise money for their medical expenses and a memorial scholarship.
