After his final song, South African rapper Costa Titch collapsed in front of a shocked audience and died. The 27-year-old, whose given name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, collapsed onstage and was pronounced dead.

On the evening of Saturday, March 11th, he was performing at the Ultra Music Festival at the Nasrec Exhibition Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a crowd of raving fans. MailOnline has decided not to post the completely disturbing video in which the performer falls to the ground during a performance, drawing gasps from the audience.

A man on stage tells his audience to “put your hands up” as he concludes his show and the crowd responds by applauding wildly. Yet nearly immediately after the cheers of the crowd erupt, he seems to lose his balance and fall to the floor.

Although shocked crew members and security guards rush to his help, the crowd continues to cheer. His death has been verified by his family, who have issued a statement in which they express their gratitude to Costa’s many admirers.

“The grim reaper has come to our door. Taking our precious son, brother and grandson away from us”, they cried. That we must recognize his demise at this time fills us with sorrow. The family said,

“As a family, we are facing a terrible time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us, and we beg that we be afforded the time and space to compose ourselves”.

The Tsobanoglou family appreciates all of your good wishes and prayers for their son; may he continue to feel the spiritual support of your kindness.

Before Costa began his career as a rapper, he worked as a backup dancer. After making his debut in the South African music scene in 2020, Costa quickly became a critically acclaimed performer.

South African politicians, celebrities and other musicians have all paid tribute to him since his demise last night. The Southern African Music Rights Organisation wrote on Twitter: “SAMRO is saddened by the passing of popular rapper Costa Tsobanoglou, better known as Costa Titch”.

Rapper Da L.E.S tweeted: ‘RIP, Costa Titch. Great talent gone to soon.’

Julius Sello Malema, a member of parliament, shared the rapper’s name and a heartbreak emoji on Twitter.
