There has been a death in the X-Life family, and everyone is saddened by it. A press release from the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office stated on March 5 that Denise Russo, a cast member from the show’s lone 2011 season, had passed away at the age of 44.

Denise, who had a son named Leo Wolf, 8, with skating superstar Pierre Luc Gagnon, was found unresponsive in the house of a friend in San Diego, California, and later died there.

According to the investigation, Denise was pronounced dead at the site despite “strong attempts at resuscitation.” It also noted the presence of drug paraphernalia.

There has been no discovery of a cause of death.

The X-Life, a VH1 show that followed the personal lives of extreme sports professionals, including Denise as one of three couples. Denise and Pierre dated on the show, but are no longer together in real life.

“I have an 8 year old beautiful son named Leo Wolf, boys rule btw and he’s the light of my life!” she shared. “We wrestle, I do my Russian wrestler accent and body slam little mouse on bed! Leo made life better and being his momma is a gift!”

Before Christmas of this year, Denise was a finalist for the cover of Inked Magazine. To the Inked profile question, “What is one thing you would like everyone to know about you?” she said, “I love being a mom!”

Denise frequently gushed on social media about her son, referring to him as “the love of my life.”

“To my Lion Wolf, you are the reason the sun shines bright in the sky, why the moon glows, is full and the stars twinkle,” she wrote in a December 2022 post. “Leo you are why the world is good baby and magical. Thank you for being my son my cub! No one compares to you.”
