On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the age of 33 Travis Ruffin, a well-known character and the creator of Ruffins Service Center, passed suddenly. Reportedly, he was driving drunk on Interstate 64 near Wilson, North Carolina, and crashed.
His mom, Michelle McCoy Jones, confirmed the news in a sorrowful Facebook message she put on her profile, in which she wrote:
“Lord I am wishing and praying that I was having a very bad dream and today everything is normal.”
Wilson is the place where Ruffin spent his childhood and where he later attended college before opening his own business, Travis Service Shop. He enjoyed widespread popularity and was widely praised for his generous and sympathetic personality.

What Happened to Travis Ruffin?
Travis was well-liked by his neighbors because of his steady demeanor and unwavering commitment to his work.
On the evening of February 25th, Ruffin allegedly crashed his 2011 Dodge Charger while under the influence of alcohol, as documented by the police. He was driving above 100 miles per hour and went off the road and into a ditch when he misjudged a bend.
Many turns and a stop are reported by Restoration News Media for the vehicle. However, the owner of the Service Center was flung through the open car top. Highway Patrolmen also noted that, as Ruffin was alone in the vehicle, no other people were hurt. The Wilson local was sent to the emergency room of a nearby hospital, but he was confirmed dead there.
The arrangements for Travis Ruffins’ funeral, which have been entrusted to the Stevens Funeral Home at 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Wilson, North Carolina, will be made public at a later date, per his obituary.
