Austin Butler revealed that his heart is “completely shattered” after the death of Lisa Marie Presley. In a statement, the Elvis impersonator expressed his condolences to Presley’s family and friends.

Butler expressed his sorrow for Presley’s three children and her mother, saying, “My heart is absolutely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper, and Priscilla at the awful and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie”. “I am immensely grateful for the time I was blessed enough to be beside her bright light and will forever appreciate the calm times we spent. Her warmth, her love and her honesty will always be remembered”

Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died on Jan. 12. The 54-year-old woman from Calabasas, California died of cardiac arrest at her home. Hours after the musician was brought to the hospital, her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed the songwriter’s death.

In a statement, Priscilla wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I must deliver the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.” She was the most fervent, courageous, and loving lady I’ve ever met. In the midst of processing this devastating loss, we respectfully want our privacy. To those who have sent their thoughts and prayers, I am eternally grateful. We have nothing additional to say about the matter at this time.

Two days after her father’s death, Presley and her mother went to the Golden Globes to cheer on Gerard Butler, who played Elvis, for Best Actor in a Drama Film. During his statement at the Golden Globes, Butler mentioned Lisa Marie, saying, “I love you forever.”

In a ceremony held on the front yard of her childhood home, Graceland, in Memphis, Tenn., four days earlier, the rock ‘n’ roll progeny celebrated her father’s 88th birthday, telling fans in attendance, “This year has been an incredible year. The film is just fantastic. I think you’ll agree with me when I say, “I’m really pleased with it, and I want you to be, too.”

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who were both in the film directed by Baz Lurhmann and in which Hanks played Colonel Tom Parker, issued a joint statement.

We are devastated by the news of Lisa Marie Presley’s untimely death tonight. Tom and I had spent some time with the family on the Elvis movie promotional tour. Lisa Marie was extremely honest and straight, vulnerable and in a mood of anticipation about the movie. They agreed that “it was a celebration of her dad” since she spoke so passionately about her father and what the film meant to her.

On Instagram, Lurhmann posted a picture of Butler and Presley. Over the past year, the entire Elvis movie family and I have enjoyed the luxury of Lisa Marie’s warm embrace,” the filmmaker stated. The news of her tragic death came as a shock to everyone. It’s comforting to know that I have the backing of her worldwide fanbase in sending positive thoughts and prayers to Priscilla and her three beautiful girls, Riley, Finley and Harper. We will miss you, Lisa Marie; you were always so kind and loving.

Presley’s final resting place will be in the Graceland estate. A representative for Riley Keough said that the singer will be laid to rest on the property she shared with her late father in Memphis, Tennessee. Her son Ben, who passed away in 2020, is buried there.
