What better way to spend Boxing Day than bingeing on a deliciously dark dose of British espionage? But don’t worry, because Treason Season 1 has your back. A quick rundown of the setup: After the poisoning of MI6’s director, rising star Adam Lawrence (Charlie Cox of “Daredevil”) is thrust into the role of director and into the spotlight. Adam’s ex-girlfriend is a Russian spy (Olga Kurylenko of “Black Widow”) and their friendship raises eyebrows when investigators look into the assassination attempt. Hard questions emerge all of a sudden: how far did Adam go to become MI6 director? Is there really anyone he can confide in? This political thriller, reminiscent of The Bodyguard, is written by Bridge of Spies scribe Matt Charman and directed by The Witcher alums Louise Hooper and Sarah O’Gorman, so it will have you guessing right up until the very end.

What Happens in Treason Season 1?
Adam’s career with Britain’s secret organization MI6 is flourishing after a string of victories. But after Hinds narrowly escapes an assassination attempt, Adam takes over. Though, eventually, his history starts to catch up with him. At first, there’s a risky reunion with a murderous ex-lover (Kurylenko). His wife (Chaplin) is also becoming increasingly suspicious of his secretive behavior and the people he is concealing these secrets from.
