Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may be the most famous couple in Hollywood now, but back in the day, they were simply two friends going on a double date. Reynold’s words from his SiriusXM interview with Entertainment Weekly in February 2016: “We went on a double date. She was out with another guy, and I was out with another female; when we ran into each other, it was like “fireworks coming over.”
However, the Critics’ Choice winner expressed gratitude that they had begun their relationship as “friends.” I remember it was hilarious because after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single for about a year, and he remarked about the 2010 film they had worked on together. “Beginning as friends is the greatest way to build a relationship,” I say.
This partnership has been very successful for the two of them. They finally got married in September 2012 and now they have three children. James and Inez their 2015 and 2016 daughters are joined by their newest addition this summer. The third child is due in October 2019, according to reports.
Taylor Swift released “Betty” from her Folklore album about a year later, leading to suspicion that the couple named their youngest daughter Betty. Swift also sang about Inez and James in the song. The musician stated in August 2020, “I named all the characters in this story after my friends’ kids.”
