Lowellville Murder: Police say that 38-year-old Jonathan D. Crago of Holly Drive in Girard killed a woman and her adult daughter hours before he committed suicide in a car in Parma. Crago was the ex-boyfriend of the younger woman. Chief Rick Alli of the Lowellville Police Department said that Crago and the younger woman had been involved in an ongoing domestic dispute prior to the murders that took place on Wednesday.
According to a news release Deborah Hudak, 55 was found dead at 340 Watson St. and her daughter Cathryn Hudak, 25 was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital where she was also found dead. It was explained that the girlfriend had filed numerous complaints with various authorities including Girard and Boardman due to the boyfriend’s persistent harassment. Because of that, we were able to narrow down a great deal of his data.
It was claimed there were witnesses who saw a man fitting Cragoas’s description. The shootings probably occurred at a house on Watson Street in Lowellville at around 6:30 p.m. Location: a few blocks to the northwest of the police station.

After the shooting, Crago allegedly traveled to Parma, where local law enforcement tried to stop him based on the description of his vehicle provided by the investigating team.
Before 9:30 o’clock on Wednesday night, Parma police tried to pull over Crago for driving north on Ridge Road near Brownfield Drive. According to the police, the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a chase that ended in the 6300 block of Velma Avenue after the car drove over spike strips and collided with a police cruiser in Brooklyn Heights.
At some point, Crago allegedly contacted police in Cleveland and said he wanted to “commit suicide by cop.” Residents were told to stay inside due to the severity of the situation.

STRIKE IN PARMA
He claimed that the assistance facilitated the dissemination of suspect information regarding Crago. About two hours after the shootings, Crago was tracked down in Parma. Not even two hours later, they swarmed in on him. It was claimed that the Parma police had spotted him up there. The chief stated that an all-points bulletin was issued within an hour and murder warrants were issued within three hours.
In response to an all-points bulletin detailing the descriptions of vehicles Crago had been seen driving officers from the Parma Police Department located one of those vehicles. According to Parma police, “they were actually involved in a short pursuit, and the area had to be locked down when the car was finally stopped.”
It was claimed that false information had been spread on social media about the extent of the threat to other people in Lowellville. Crago was never on the loose in the neighborhood. In fact, he immediately left the village. Contrary evidence could be found on social media.
Cleveland media reported that at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement in Parma issued a shelter-in-place order for the area around Pearl and Velma avenues due to a standoff involving multiple agencies. Crago was charged with two counts of aggravated murder by the Lowellville Police Department for the murders that occurred on Wednesday night. As part of the charges, an arrest warrant was also submitted to the Struthers Municipal Court.
