When is Alice in Borderland Season 2 Going to Release? What will be the Story this time?

Alice in Borderland Season 2

Alice in Borderland Season 2

Alice in Borderland Season 2: For fans of the Japanese thriller Alice in Borderland, the long wait for season two has been almost as excruciating as what Arisu went through in the first season. The show premiered on Netflix in December 2020.

Alice in Borderland, based on Haro Aso’s manga of the same name, was popular long before it was adapted for the big screen, and as the success of Squid Game has demonstrated, violent games are generally well-received in other countries.

Despite the fact that season two was greenlit only two weeks after the first season aired, viewers have had to wait a long time to find out how the plot progresses. So, where does this post-apocalyptic story go from here? Read on if you’re willing to take a chance on us and learn everything you need to know about Season 2 of Alice in Borderland.

When can we expect to watch Alice in Borderland Season 2?

A full two years after the premiere of the first season, the second is set to premiere in December 2022. In a trailer for the next year, Netflix confirmed the news in November 2021 as part of their virtual Japan Festival event.

Production on the new episodes didn’t get underway until the second half of 2021, and it was anticipated that shooting would continue right up until the start of the new year.

Alice in Borderland Season 2 Release Date

The revelation was confirmed by a casting call for background actors, so individuals hoping to appear in the film would do well to keep their availability during this period. Production on season two of Alice in Borderland concluded in March 2022, according to a Netflix press release. It posted a video of the cast responding to the shoot on its @NetflixGolden Twitter feed.

“Alice in Borderland Season 2 has wrapped up production, so be ready to go back to the games!” it says in the post. When the popular Japanese sci-fi/action series returns in December 2022, the 10 cast members who made it through the deadly games of season one will face even greater and more perilous trials.

Tweets were used to compile this information. The material shown here may be available in a different format on their website, or you may find additional resources there.

Post-production could take a while due to all the special effects required to make the show a success, but we’re counting on that December 2022 date. In an effort to expand internationally, Netflix is adding 50 new titles from Japan, including the latest season of Alice in Borderland. Both live-action and animated movies and TV shows will fall under this category.

Alice in Borderland is a great program on its own, but it wasn’t until Squid Game came out that it really took off. Season one was released about a year before the release of Squid Game, and it quickly became one of the top 10 series in 40 countries. As the Netflix algorithm began promoting it to Squid Game aficionados, though, it quickly became a phenomenon around the world.

According to Michael Smith, VP of Content Strategy at Netflix, “we were happy to see that many members who discovered and watched Squid Game also started discovering Alice for the first time”. “Our system recognized the link, and it began suggesting that members who hadn’t seen Alice do so.

Nine months after its first release, “it landed again in the top 10 series list in more than 50 countries around the world,” he noted. If the second season of Alice in Borderland continues to be as successful as the first, maybe the show will be quickly renewed for a third season.

Where will the story go in  Alice in Borderland Season 2?

Alice in Borderland Season 2 Plot

About half of Haro Aso’s manga series was used in the first season of Alice in Borderland, leaving at least another 33 chapters to draw from. Netflix’s producers may easily go in a different way to extend the plot, though.

The first season ended with Arisu having recently survived a lot of deadly games, but having lost his pals Chota and Korube along the way. In the end, he was at the Ten of Hearts game where players had to find the “Witch.” Arisu discovered Momoka was the Witch after a truly awful bloodbath, which led to the revelation that Momoka and Asahi had been intentionally undermining the game.

Arisu and Usagi follow the trail to the control room, where they meet a mysterious woman named Mira, who declares the start of a brand new series of games in Tokyo. This new controller may be even more hazardous than the ones who came before her, meaning Arisu has a long way to go in the game.

Even though Netflix hasn’t shown what’s ahead, it’s safe to assume that Mira will continue to play a significant part as the Big Bad. Her games may not be exactly like the ones we’ve seen before, but we can be sure they’ll be just as lethal.

Inevitably, the concept of saboteurs will have further-reaching consequences, making it increasingly difficult for Arisu to put his trust in his friends and family. Now that his buddies are dead, he has nothing but the memories of their deaths to comfort him. I’m hoping that the show’s second season doesn’t merely wipe away all that mental anguish.

No matter what happens in Season 2, don’t anticipate the setting to alter. Creator Shinsuke Sato commented, “Setting the plot here has given a sense of curiosity and exoticism of Tokyo”. I always planned with international audiences in mind.

When will the trailer for Season 2 of Alice in Borderland be available online?

It’s a relief that the initial footage is finally in our hands. It’s only a preview, but you may check it out up there. When we learned that Season 2 would launch in December 2022, we figured we’d get a trailer for it in the month before the premiere. Instead, we got a teaser in May 2022.

The preview, which is being promoted as a “super teaser trailer,” features a lot of “game” jargon, with the concept of “Battle Royale” as if it were created by Lewis Carroll getting a significant boost.

“Every day we shot these enormous scenes, and the show’s universe is now more expansive than ever. The show’s filming was a blast, and I can’t wait to see the finished product “singer Kento Yamazaki remarked.

According to Tsuchiya, “There are large set pieces, like explosions, in every scene. In those intense sequences, I felt like I was in the shoes of my protagonist, Usagi. I learned something new every day, and that added up to a lot of insight. In my opinion, the experience was quite satisfying.”

As soon as we have any additional information or footage, we will share it with you. No need to do anything just keep checking back! The Alice in Borderland Netflix release has finally arrived.
