In the third season finale of Love Is Blind, Cole Barnett admitted that he is seeing a therapist after his fiancee, Zanab Jaffrey, broke off their engagement at the altar. The 27-year-old reality star updated his followers on Instagram on Thursday with a Q&A, detailing his life since filming the Netflix series.
“I’ve been beginning a podcast while also working as a buyer’s agent and property flipper,” he explained. “Oh, and I’m going to start going to counseling.”
In response to another fan’s question, Barnett went into greater into about the reasons why he has found treatment helpful.
In terms of what he’s learned from counseling, he says, “the best thing I’ve acquired so far is honestly just how therapeutic it is to talk about the things that have influenced you, wounded you, or were traumatic.”

“It’s not like there’s a great thing you need to learn, necessarily, there are a lot of things you can learn,” Barnett said. As one man put it, “sometimes as a guy you simply don’t ever talk about emotions and feelings, you never do,” and that’s why “just sitting with someone and talking about those things in and of itself is empowering and liberating.”
The realtor said, “I honestly can’t Thank you enough.” to express his appreciation to his supporters. As the third season of Love Is Blind progressed, Barnett proposed to his girlfriend, but the relationship quickly became strained. All season long, he was criticized for his actions toward Jaffrey, including his admission that he was attracted to co-star Colleen Reed despite her being in a relationship with Matt Bolton.
After they broke up at the altar in the season three finale, “Wedding Day,” she informed him, “You single-handedly ruined my self-confidence.” She has spoken out about her choice to end the engagement with PEOPLE.
Jaffrey clarified, “I did not stand up there and say no to the Cole that everyone got to see.” “There was significantly more. Everything I’ve said is true.”

She then claimed that he was “trying to control what I ate and modifying my eating habits,” to which Barnett responded, “I never once cared about what you ate,” finding the whole thing “hilarious.”
“I quit eating,” she said. A banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter helped me get through the long filming days.
Later, as married co-hosts Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey wrapped up the reunion, Barnett apologized to Jaffrey and their co-stars.
“Zay, I came here. I fell in love with you. I really did wanna get married to you, and I’m sorry for hurting you on the way and everyone else who I’ve hurt,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m working on it.”
