Instead of casting a new actor in the role of T’Challa, the character was simply written out of the MCU in an expression of respect for the actor, who was so integral to the success of the first film that the focus of this movie shifted to the supporting cast.
This means that Letitia Wright, who plays T’Challa’s brilliant sister Shuri, will have a larger role in the sequel than she did in the first film. Wright will be joined by returning performers Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o.
However, Wakanda Forever also breaks new ground by introducing comic book fans to Tenoch Huerta and Dominique Thorne as Namor and Riri Williams, respectively, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Namor is played by Tenoch Huerta
Just who is Namor, anyway? Mutant Namor can fly with the use of wings attached to his ankles, breathe underwater and withstand the extreme pressures of the deep sea. He is the tyrannical monarch of the underwater realm of Talocan and fiercely opposes the surface population.
Queen Ramonda played by Angela Bassett
In other words, who is this mysterious Ramonda Queen? Formerly co-reigning with her late husband, King T’Chaka, Ramonda is now the monarch of Wakanda.
Okoye played by Danai Gurira
Exactly who is this Okoye character, then? The Dora Milaje, under Okoye’s command, battled with the Avengers in Thanos’s horrific Infinity War.

Nakia is Played by Lupita Nyong’o
What is Nakia’s deal? Nakia is one of the elite agents in the Wakandan War Dogs, who are dispatched on missions all across the globe. She was also the one who King T’Challa loved before he died. As she was conspicuously absent from both Infinity War and Endgame, fans are curious as to where she has been and what she has been up to in her absence.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could focus on Okoye
Shuri or Nakia would be fantastic Black Panthers. The sequel needn’t focus on Wakanda’s guardian. Its title suggests a perspective shift. If so, Okoye is the perfect protagonist. As Dora Millaje’s leader, she kept Wakanda together post-Snap.
Marvel Studios hasn’t said who Ryan Coogler’s latest movie would focus on. According to the company’s website, the sequel will explore Wakanda and the previous film’s characters. Okoye might star in the sequel or Wakanda Disney+ series.
