Bella Hadid Vogue Interview: She Regrets Having Plastic Surgery?

Isabella Khairiah Hadid, famous as Bella Hadid, an American Supermodel who was voted “Model of the Year” in 2016 confessed in an interview with Vogue that she repents getting a nose job done when she was a teenager.

“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors”: Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid graced the cover of American Vogue’s April issue and she confirmed that she wishes that she wouldn’t have undergone a nose job at the mere age of 14 years. She said “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” adding “I think I would have grown into it.”

She has been alleged of getting done many other procedures as well however those were denied by Hadid. The 25-year-old said “People always have something to say, but what I have to say is, I’ve always been misunderstood in my industry and by the people around me.”

In a November 2021 Instagram post, Bella Hadid spoke of her mental health by sharing some tearful snaps and captioned “I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas, triggers, joys and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your pain and how to handle it.”

In the same interview, she also shared the “burnout” she experienced by her earlier this year because of which she had to undergo a treatment program that involved counseling and medication. She said “There were people online saying, ‘You live this amazing life,” adding “So then how can I complain? I always felt that I didn’t have the right to complain, which meant that I didn’t have the right to get help, which was my first problem.”

Though she denotes “multiple childhood traumas,” something that took a toll on her was the extreme pressure of proving herself in the fashion industry.

Hadid said “I’ve had girls in my lap crying to me at four in the morning, still at fittings for a show when they have to be at another show at 7 a.m.,” adding “Completely destroyed, hair burned off, haven’t eaten anything, exhausted to the point where they’re shaking.”

Hadid confirms the advancements that have emerged in the industry however a lot is yet to be done since “fashion can make or break you.” “Finally girls are standing up about sample sizes, but when I first started seven years ago, I couldn’t fit into Saint Laurent. And I remember a stylist talking about my weight because I couldn’t zip up.” She told the outlet.

Hadid then went on to add “Looking back, I think, yeah, because a Saint Laurent sample size from the runway was just not a real size for anybody. But then you think there’s something wrong with you and no one around you is saying, no, no, you’re fine, don’t worry, it’s a small size.” Furthermore, she also opened up about critical comparisons with her sister, Gigi Hadid who is also a model.

She said “I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing,” adding “And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it. I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety—what was I doing getting into this business? But over the years I became a good actress.”
