There is no official word on the second season, and speculating on the narrative is difficult due to the absence of any manga series. The filmmakers are free to choose the setting for their movie.
There was one unresolved issue at the first season’s conclusion. The state of Michiru and Nazuna was left unsolved, and they were changed into humanoids.
While Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals has developed a way to morph into a super Beastman, the treatment for transforming a human into a humanoid has not been identified.
