Snowfall Season 6 is a crime drama TV series which is created by John Singleton, Dave Andron, and Eric Amadio. The series’ first season aired on July 5, 2017, on FX and gained popularity among viewers. The series is set in 1983 and follows the first crack epidemic and its aftermath across the city.
It revolves around the tales of many characters whose lives are fortuned to intercross: Franklin Saint who is a 20-year-old drug dealer, Mexican luchador Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata, CIA operative Teddy McDonald, and Lucia Villanueva who is the niece of a Mexican crime boss.
The series ran for five seasons and has a total of 48 episodes. The fifth season aired on February 23, 2022, with a total of 10 episodes on FX. The series became very popular and received appreciation from critics as well as its viewers and has an IMDB rating of 8.2 out of 10 and 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Since the premiere of the last episode of the fifth season, fans have been eagerly waiting for the renewal of the series for a sixth season, and here’s what we know so far.
Is Snowfall Renewed for Season 6?
The series has been officially renewed for its sixth season by the original network, FX. Nick Grad, President, of Original Programming, said “FX first partnered with legendary writer/director John Singleton and the rest of the creative team six years ago to pursue their vision for an ambitious, powerful drama about the explosion of the crack epidemic of the early 80s,” adding further “Today, as the fifth season of Snowfall reaches new heights of acclaim and viewership, there is no question that this series has become an FX classic drama.
We are thrilled to order a sixth season that will enable Dave Andron, Walter Mosley, and the rest of the producers to bring Snowfall to a climactic finale showcasing the brilliance of everyone involved, from the stellar cast led by Damson Idris to the writers, directors, artists, and crew.”

Snowfall Season 6 Release Date
The renewal has just been announced and so, there is no information about the expected release date of the sixth season of the critically acclaimed TV series also given that the fifth season has been concluded just nearly a month ago, the release of the upcoming season cannot be expected before 2023. If the forthcoming season will follow the same release pattern that previous seasons followed then we can expect the sixth season to kick off in early 2023.

Snowfall Season 6 Expected Storyline
Since the fifth season of the series has not been concluded yet, we cannot actually predict precisely what to expect from the upcoming season of Snowfall. Episodes 9th and 10th are yet to premiere titled “Departures” and “Fault Lines” respectively.
The official synopsis of Season 5 Episode 10 isn’t clear yet, but it does give an indication regarding what we may see in the sixth season. It states, “Franklin is decimated; Teddy moves to secure his future; the family fractures.” There are rumors that the Saint’s cupidity, unrest, and lack of faith led the ground underneath their feet to collapse which in the end led to the demise of the Saint’s fraternity.
There are also rumors circulating that the drug war to go full strangle from Reagan down to the beat police, as true events are generally showcased in the plot of this series. Dilemma and chance will emerge as the Contra conflict pulls to a close.
As gangs battle for split cocaine profits, the bloodbath will be intense and extensive. And it is also believed that Franklin will be either killed in the upcoming season or will falsify his demise and live underground in some other country.
Obviously, we can expect the upcoming season to pick up where the fifth season will leave us, and given that it will be the last season, the series is sure to blow us away with its amazing and intriguing storyline of season 6.
