The Invincible Season 2 release date has been set, but what will happen next for the Amazon Prime series?

When will the second season of Invincible premiere? Occasionally, the most compelling comic book storylines do not exist on the big screen; they appear on television.

Invincible premiered on Amazon Prime in early 2021 and centered on youngster Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), the son of renowned hero Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). He discovers he has inherited his father’s talents.

The animated series successfully combines poignant character journeys with terrible, merciless violence – quickly cementing it as one of the finest animated programs of all time for many fans.

However, with only eight episodes in length, the first season flew by – especially after the terrible confrontation between Invincible and Omni-Man. Mark’s father beats him to a bloody pulp before fleeing the world.

The program wonderfully nails the tone of Robert Kirkman’s comics, owing largely to the fact that the fan-favorite creator serves as executive producer.

However, will the conclusion alter the world’s perception of superheroes? Will Mark adopt a new strategy for dealing with his superheroic alter-ego?

What about the additional threats hinted at the finale’s conclusion? We do, however, have a sense of what to expect during Invincible’s sophomore season.

The Invincible Season 2 release date

Due to the season’s dramatic conclusion, many fans are eager to learn when Invincible Season 2 will eventually release on Amazon Prime. Regrettably, both the streaming provider and the creative team have been mum about the release date for the next episodes.

Before the first season, Robert Kirkman previously stated to Collider that Season 2 should not take as long to produce, stating that “the production timeframe is quite frightening.”

I believe that we spent several years developing and refining this season. Things will tighten up as we ideally get into season two and beyond.”

“There is a lot less designing and different things that have to happen to get into our second season,” the highly renowned writer continued. And it’s plausible that development on the second season has already begun.”

Kirkman continued, “So I believe we’re in a strong position to move ahead if this show is a success.” Thus, while Invincible is still in production, it is reviving! It’s also worth noting that Amazon has already renewed the show for a third season.

The Invincible Season 2 Trailer

As you might have anticipated, there is no trailer for Invincible Season 2. Apologies about that. Thankfully, Amazon’s Invincible Twitter account does an excellent job of keeping fans entertained with humorous material and Invincible-related memes.

When a trailer does find its way online, it will very certainly be the first to do so. Meanwhile, the account has been sharing amusing gags about the series, such as riffing on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman or making references to burger places in Invincible and The Boys: Diabolical. Essentially, monitor social media.

In January 2022, creator Steven Yeun told Collider that voice work on the series had not yet begun, stating, “We haven’t begun. I’m aware that we’re about to begin.” As a result, it will be long before a trailer becomes available online.

Additionally, the actress expressed excitement for what’s to come, stating, “Invincible is a fantastic comic and just thinking about how much narrative is still to be told from that run, it’s going to be insane.” I’m ecstatic.”

The Invincible Season 2 Plot

However, at the end of the first season, Mark Grayson speaks to Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen), who asks the hero, “What’s the plan in the meantime?” The episode concludes with shots of several hazards that Mark will face in the future.

The Sequins invade Mars, the interdimensional Flaxans prepare for war, Titan (Mahershala Ali) develops into a full-fledged criminal lord, and Battle-Beast (Michael Dorn) slaughters aliens in space.

That’s not to mention that D.A. Sinclair (Ezra Miller) is now employed at the Global Defense Agency by Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins).

Essentially, Mark will have a lot on his plate. Let us not forget that Omni-Man is still out there someplace, and Invincible will eventually have to confront his father.

Now that he is aware of Viltrum’s real character, he must prepare Earth for the possibility of an invasion by the evil empire.

In the comics, the yellow and blue-suited hero must contend with Immortal Man – who survived Omni-horrific Man’s onslaught – while also assisting the Guardians of the Globe and Cecil in safeguarding the planet from different perils.

However, when Invincible travels to a strange planet to assist a mantis-like species of humans, he discovers Omni-Man governing the globe from a throne. Interesting.

Fortunately, he’ll also have to assist the Coalition of Worlds in preventing the Viltrumites from spreading throughout the cosmos and conquering other planets.

However, during an interview with, Robert Kirkman indicated that one of Invincible’s primary antagonists — the dimension-hopping Angstrom Levy – will play a significant role in Season 2.

“He shakes things up,” the author stated. If you’re acquainted with the comics and the TV program, you’ll understand where we’re heading with the second season, especially if you consider how we altered the tale in the first season.”

The Invincible Season 2 Cast

Which actors will reprise their roles for Invincible Season 2? Naturally, Steven Yeun of The Walking Dead will resume as MarkGrayson A.K.A. Invincible, while J.K. Simmons will reprise his role as NolanGrayson A.K.A. Omni-Man.

By the season’s finale, the father-son dynamic has been shattered. However, Mark convinces Nolan that they will always have each other even if everyone he knows dies.

Their conflict will continue to harm Mark’s family – especially his mother, Debbie Grayson – and Killing Eve star Sandra Oh will explore the Omni-Man twist’s consequences in season 2.

Not to worry, the Guardians of the Globe are also returning — which means more of Gillian Jacobs’ Atmo Eve, Jason Mantzoukas’ Rex Splode, Khary Payton’s Black Samson, Malese Jow’s Dupli-Kate, Grey Griffin’s Shrinking-Rey, and Monster Girl.

Interestingly, Ross Marquand will reprise his part as Rudy Conners – while it is unknown whether Zachary Quinto will reprise his role as Robot from the first season.

Given Ross Marquand’s prowess as an impressionist – he also portrays the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame – it would be unsurprising if The Walking Dead actor took over for the Star Trek veteran.

Essentially, everyone who survived the first set of episodes is expected to return for Season 2. There are some new faces on the coming, but Amazon has yet to announce any extra cast members.
