Countdown to the Release of Total War Warhammer 3

Total War: Warhammer 3 is nearly here after being postponed until 2022. The Warhammer trilogy’s final installment looks set to immerse players in epic battles with an epic story and strategic gameplay.

We look at some of the features included in Total War: Warhammer 3.

Release Date

Following a postponement from its original 2021 release date, Total War: Warhammer 3 is now just days away from its official release date of Thursday, February 17.

In the lead-up to the game’s release, the official Total War Twitch channel has hosted a series of streams to help build anticipation.

Players who have pre-purchased the game will be able to preload it on select platforms beginning Tuesday, February 15, before the game’s February 17 release.

What to Look Forward to in Total War: Warhammer 3

While details about the campaign are scarce, we know it will take place in The Realms of Chaos, which are said to be the source of Warhammer’s magic.

Ian Roxburgh, the game’s director, has stated that the map will be rough twice the size of the Eye of the Vortex map from the previous installment. The game’s gameplay will largely remain unchanged, with players battling and bartering their way through the Realms of Chaos.

What exactly are Factions?

Given the game’s setting in the Realms of Chaos, it’s only natural that players will encounter a plethora of Chaos factions. Kislev and Cathay will be defending humanity against the Chaos Gods’ factions: Nurgle, Slaanesh, Khorne, and Tzeentch.

Total War Warhammer 3

Despite their overwhelming presence in previous games, this will be the first time in the Warhammer series that players will have the opportunity to lead Daemonic factions.

Along with these factions, the Ogre Kingdoms are slated to enter the fray as part of a free post-launch DLC pack for anyone who pre-ordered the game or bought it during the first week of release.
