Jenna Dewan Shares Wedding Plans
The 43-year-old Rookie actress revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she and her fiance, who became engaged in 2020, are now finalizing their wedding arrangements after postponing them for a number of reasons.
Dewan said to 42-year-old host Jennifer Hudson, “We’ve been engaged forever. We got engaged and then there were so many life things that happened… All of a sudden there was [COVID-19] and [the] pandemic and home and then baby number three. So we kept pushing this day.”
She went on, “But now we really are wanting to and are setting the date and getting it going.” The actress stated that even though their wedding was delayed for a long time, she was glad she waited because her new baby could finally attend the celebration.
She said, “I believe the timing is right. I think maybe baby no. 3 had to be here for the whole family to be complete. It always works out that way. I believe in divine timing.”
Dewan also revealed her initial choices for the wedding officiants, Oprah Winfrey and RuPaul. She remarked that the two of them together “basically [describe] me in a nutshell,” and that she would “set a date tomorrow” if they both agreed.
The soon-to-be mother of three also talked about the differences between her two prior pregnancies and the recent one, which she revealed in January. Dewan is the mother of two children, Callum, age four, and Everly, age ten, whom she shares with her ex-husband Channing Tatum.
She said, “[I’m] a little bit more tired this time because I’m chasing two others. You know how that goes. You’re like, ‘Oh rest what’s that? We don’t know what that is.’ ”
Hudson questioned Dewan, “Does the oldest help at all?” and she said that Everly “is really good” at being the big sister. Dewan continued by saying that she still loves to make sure her daughter has time to simply “be a kid.”
She said, “She’s a sweetie. She loves her little brother. She’s so good, but I kind of want her to be a kid too. So I let her take the lead with how much responsibility and all that she wants, but she’s amazing.”
