Has Marcella Maxwell’s Cause of Death Revealed?

Marcella Maxwell passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. She passed away at the age of 96. As of yet, Marcella Maxwell’s exact cause of death is not yet revealed. Whenever we get any other information related to her death we will share it with you.

What Did Marcella Maxwell Achieve in Her Life?

Maxwell was born in Cleveland, N.C. and her family had a history of teaching. Her grandfather even gave land for the first African-American elementary school in their town. She moved to New York when she was young and worked as a secretary for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

She got her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in teaching from Long Island University. Later, she earned a doctorate in educational administration from Fordham University. Her dissertation compared elementary school principals of different backgrounds in urban schools.

Maxwell also taught English in Puerto Rico and trained teachers at Bank Street College of Education. She worked at Medgar Evers College for 13 years, serving in various roles.

She was active in community groups like Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and The Links, Inc., where she focused on helping seniors with issues like Social Security and Medicare. She even held city positions under Mayor Edward Koch.
