A man named “Carl Kearney” is behind the prison. County police officials “Prince George” said on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 9:20 a.m. that the officers were requested to conduct a welfare check at a home on St. James Court in Accokeek, Maryland.
When officers arrived, they located the body of 38-year-old Patrina Best. Officials said 43-year-old Carl Kearney, Jr. of Griffin confessed to officers that he strangled her during an argument. In this post, you will know about Carl and this incident.
Who is Carl Kearney?
Kearney is the head football coach at Spalding High School and the murderer of Patrina Best. He was born in Gryphon. Before returning to his hometown as head coach in 2020, he played for Griffin’s high school football team in 1990.
In addition, Kearney briefly joined the New York Jets as a wide receiver in 2004. But in that season, he didn’t participate in any games. On December 16, 2021, a tweet was shared on the official account of the school. The tweet reads:

When Was Carl Kearney Arrested?
The current head coach of the Spalding High varsity football team, Carl Kearney, Jr. of Gryphon was taken into custody by authorities on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
According to the police, Kearney entered the Division V Clinton police station at about 9:20 a.m. and admitted to killing his fiancée after they got into a fight inside a house in the 800 block of St. James Court. When officers checked on Patrina Best of Accokeek, Maryland, they discovered that she was not responding.
At the scene, she was declared dead. Kearney faced allegations relating to first and second-degree murder. The Homicide Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department reports that he is being detained in jail in Maryland. No further details regarding the investigation have been provided.
