Adam Tebben Obituary

Adam Albert Tebben, who was born on April 8, 1988, in Emporia, Kansas, sadly passed away at 35 on January 20, 2024. He was a dedicated flight nurse, and his sudden death has deeply affected his family, friends, and the community he served.

How Did Adam Tebben Die?

Adam’s life was sadly ended in a helicopter crash near Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he worked as a flight nurse. This was not only a heartbreaking event for his family but also a big loss for the medical community and the people he helped.

Air Evac Lifeteam shared a post on Facebook and wrote,

‘Thank you for all the support and love you have shown the Air Evac family during this difficult time. It is with a very heavy heart we share that three of our colleagues, Pilot Russell Haslam, Flight Nurse Adam Tebben and Medic Steven FitzGerald passed away in an air accident on the evening of January 20. Please continue to hold all of their families in your hearts. Russell, Adam and Steven, we miss you so much. We’ll take it from here.”

Adam Tebben Early Life and Education

Adam grew up in Winfield, Kansas, and went to Village Elementary School and Lowther North and South in Emporia, KS, for grade school. From seventh grade until he graduated in 2006, he attended Chase County public schools, ultimately graduating from Chase County High School in Cottonwood Falls, KS.

After high school, he received a scholarship for both academics and baseball to attend Baker University in Baldwin City, KS, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology in 2010. Following college, Adam worked as a Senior Project Manager with LD Tebben Roofing Company in Austin, TX, under his uncle Larry.

Later, he returned to Emporia, KS, inspired by his mother’s passion for nursing, to pursue a nursing degree at Emporia State University. He successfully graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Adam Tebben Career and Accomplishments

Adam was part of the Kansas State Nursing Association (KSNA). In 2019, he was chosen as President-Elect, then served as President from 2020 to 2021, and finally as Past President in 2022.

Adam was well-respected as a speaker on a national level. He dedicated time to promoting the nursing profession and discussing leadership and development at various events across the country.

In addition to being a member of the American Nurses Association and the Emergency Nurses Association, Adam achieved board certification in Emergency Nursing, a prestigious recognition for expertise in emergency care and nursing excellence in emergency departments.

Adam’s family, filled with love, made his life better. He is still here in the hearts of his parents, Dallas and Carmen Tebben, his wife, Rebecka Tebben (formerly Miller), his sister, Rachel Tebben-Wolter, and his niece Ellalyn Wolter. His family will really miss him because they remember his kind heart and loving ways.

Friends and family can come to remember Adam Albert Tebben on January 30th, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Victory Fellowship Foursquare Church in Emporia, KS. The funeral service will take place the next day, January 31st, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
