Mark Rober and Lisa Rober are the parents of one kid, a son. His name is Jonathan and he has autism. Mark has become much more transparent about his son’s autism in recent years.
The well-known scientist has started to actively promote awareness of autism spectrum disease and he gave his ever-expanding fan base an explanation of why this is such a personal matter for him.
In a 2021 video, the dad behind the widely shared movies of squirrel mazes revealed to his viewers the identity of his kid, who many had never heard of before. He said:
“The reason I’m so protective of him is because he has special needs. He’s on the autistic spectrum and this is the internet. So even as I make this video I’m incredibly terrified but this is something that my wife and I feel really strongly about.”
