What is Joey Jordison’s Cause of Death?
The real reason behind Joey Jordison’s cause of death is not yet revealed. But he peacefully died in his sleep on July 26, 2021, at the age of 46. The Slipknot drummer was found by his ex-girlfriend.
He called 911 and during the emotional call, she requested help and said she was checking up on Jordison and became concerned once she opened the door of his home. He was declared dead at the scene. After Joey’s death, his family shared a statement:

Jordison was buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa, just a short distance from fellow Slipknot founding member and bassist, Paul Gray.

Was Joey Jordison Suffering From Any Illness Before His Death?
In 2016, Jordison revealed that he was diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a disease that causes inflammation in the spinal cord.
Its symptoms started in 2010 while touring with Murderdolls, but the disease was diagnosed long after. The neurological disease had cost him the use of his legs and caused him to be unable to play the drums before rehabilitation.
He recovered with the help of Caleb, his trainer and medical assistance. It is unknown if the disease played a role or not in his untimely death.
