What is Randy Strebig’s Cause of Death?

Recently married Randy Strebig and Allison Wheaton perished in an airplane crash outside Ludington, Michigan.

The couple’s passing leaves a huge void in the neighborhood. The aircraft looked to be taking off eastward before making a sharp turn to the north and crashing. By the time firefighters arrived, the jet was completely enveloped in flames. At the scene, Strebig, Wheaton and the couple’s two dogs were pronounced deceased.

When the incident occurred, the sky was 95% cloud cover, visibility was less than a mile, it was snowing and the wind speed was 7 mph west-southwest with gusts up to 16 mph. It was thirty-three degrees.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, which look into air crashes, have received the findings of the inquiry headed by Michigan State Police.

What Did Randy Strebig’s Loved Ones Say After His Death?

Strebig is the president of the Steuben County Board of Aviation Commissioners. In addition, he is the president and creator of the Indiana Seaplane Pilots Association Lake James Splashin.

He also owns Strebig Construction located in Fort Wayne, which has built or renovated a number of public projects in northeastern Indiana including the Tri-State Steuben County Municipal Airport’s terminal building.

The construction company released a statement related to his death on Facebook:

“We are so heartbroken with deepest sorrow and are just beginning to understand the gravity of this loss!! Randy and Allison were both amazing people and beautiful souls that touched so many peoples lives!!! Both so selfless and giving!!”

In addition to offering therapeutic riding sessions, Wheaton has a reputation for nurturing big animals. She was a skilled pilot as well. The pair established their residence at Lake James, where they also owned a landing strip south of the second basin. Tammy McKenney posted after his death:

“Absolutely heartbroken. Randy Strebig & Allison Wheaton were two bright shining stars here on earth. They lived life to the fullest with endless efforts to better the world around them. So blessed to meet them in Maine and spend time with them in their community in Angola, Indiana. Thinking of all of their family and friends who are devistated by this immense loss. Also thinking of Summit Equestrian Summit Equestrian Center, all her rescues and the veterans she served.”

Tori Schlatter wrote:

“All my love and prayers go to the Summit Equestrian Center this evening. A wonderful woman named Allison and her husband pass away today. I’m sorry for your losses. She was a wonderful person who truly loved all of the veterans she supported and her animals she cared for. Thank you Allison for everything you did, It truly was an honor to have met you. For Allison, thank you for showing me that you can do it all with grace. You will be missed.”
