Christine was a notable alumna of Northern Kentucky University, where she was a proud member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Her pursuit of higher education didn’t stop there; she furthered her academic journey by earning a master’s degree from Xavier University.

For 13 years, Christine dedicated her life to education, teaching at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School. Known for her devotion and passion, she influenced countless students who adored her for her dedication and inspiring teaching methods. Her role at the school extended beyond just being an educator; she was also an active and beloved parishioner.
Christine Bartel Personal Life
Apart from her professional achievements, Christine was a loving and devoted mother known for raising her children with immense care and compassion. Her creativity and organizational skills were evident in all aspects of her life.
She cherished traveling and exploring, particularly enjoying camping trips to major national parks east of the Mississippi with her husband and children. A social person by nature, Christine loved spending time with her friends, with gatherings often incomplete without her favorite, a shot of Fireball.

Christine’s family was central to her life. She is survived by her husband of nearly 14 years, Anthony “Tony” Bartel, and her children, Ella Marie and Jackson Edward.
She also leaves behind her parents, Chris and Cathy Brehl; her siblings, Mary Beth Marqua (Daniel) and Will Brehl (Noelle Lameier); nephews Harrison and Ezekiel Marqua; and her parents-in-law, Bob and Diane Bartel. Her family, the IHM community, and numerous friends and extended family members mourn her loss.

Christine Bartel Legacy and Tributes
In memory of Christine, visitation was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial following. She was laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
In honor of her memory, the community suggested memorials to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School, a testament to her dedication to education and the impact she had on the lives of her students.
Christine’s sudden departure has deeply affected those who knew her, leaving a void that will be felt for years to come. Her life, characterized by her passion for teaching, her devotion to her family, and her vibrant presence in her community, will continue to inspire and be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
