Is Instagram Down? Know The Latest Updates!

Instagram is an American photo and video-sharing social networking service owned by Meta Platforms. It allows people to post photos and videos that can be changed with filters, put in order with hashtags and linked to a place using geographical tagging.

You can share posts with everyone or just with people you’ve accepted. Users can look through other users’ posts by tags and places, see what’s popular, like photos and follow other users to get their posts added to their own feed.

Is Instagram Down?

Well, Instagram is up on November 16, 2023 but it was down a day before. Like all social media sites, Instagram’s systems may go down from time to time. An issue with the server is the most common reason for these kinds of failures.

Because Instagram has more than a billion users, it needs to set up computers with a lot of memory. Something might have gone wrong with Instagram’s computers which is why the service is down. Because Instagram was down, many apps and games that need social network accounts to log in were also having trouble.

What You Can Do When Instagram is Down?

If the Instagram app doesn’t work for you, first check your internet connection. Then, see if your friends’ apps work or if they’re having the same problem. If they say “yes,” it’s likely that the website is down for maintenance or there are problems with how it works with other websites. Below you will get other information related to Instagram.

When Was Instagram Developed?

In its early stages, Instagram was developed in San Francisco as Burbn, a mobile check-in app made by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. While working on Burbn, Systrom closed a $500,000 seed funding round with Baseline Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz on March 5, 2010.

That amount would be equal to $615,400 in 2021 dollars. When they saw that it was too much like Foursquare, they changed the focus of their app to picture sharing, which was already a popular feature. They changed the name to Instagram, which comes from the words “instant camera” and “telegram.”

Originally launched for iOS in October 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, Instagram rapidly gained popularity with one million registered users in two months, 10 million in a year and 1 billion by June 2018. Facebook Inc. bought the service in April 2012 for about $1 billion in cash and stock.

In April 2012, the Android version came out. In November 2012, a PC interface with fewer features came out. In June 2014, a Fire OS app came out and in October 2016, a Windows 10 app. As of October 2015, more than 40 billion pictures had been added.

Many people admire Instagram’s popularity and impact, but it has also been attacked for making teens’ mental health worse, changing its rules and interface, being accused of censorship and users posting illegal or inappropriate content.
