In the post, Jenna said,
“As you know, my husband David Rives chose to Separate in August. He refuses all church authority, accountability, or biblical counseling for some very critical issues.”
Ellis shared that Rives had been going through a Christian ministry process called “Matthew 18” for more than five months. The 36-year-old lawyer explained why she posted, saying,
“It is time to walk in truth openly and that the body of Christ should encourage my husband toward truth and God, especially because he claims to be in ministry leadership and is ignoring his Christian duty in many respects.”
That statement hinted that she had issues with Rives because he didn’t follow his religious duties as a true Christian. Surprisingly, the photo revealed that on Facebook, she still used the name Jenna Rives, not Jenna Ellis.
David Rives commented, “That post was a second or third edit, where previously she blamed her “pastor” for telling her to post that (the libel and lies). I have the originals. The pastor told me he never advised her in that way. Some people you don’t truly know until they try to take you down.”
In a tweet from August 2020, Rives shared that,
