Travis Bagent, his father is a champion arm wrestler in the world. Tyson Bagent grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He played basketball and football at Martinsburg High School. After throwing for 41 touchdowns, he was crowned the West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year.
Bagent completed his high school career with 112 touchdown touchdowns and 7,800 passing yards. Although Robert Morris and Albany, two Division I Football Championship Subdivision institutions, sought Bagent, he ultimately decided to attend Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, a Division II institution.
He was a Shepherd Rams college football player. Bagent shattered nearly every quarterback record held by Shepherd during his five years as a starter. He also broke the Division II records for completions and passing yards, as well as the NCAA record for throwing touchdowns.
Bagent won the Hardman Award, the Harlon Hill Trophy and practically all of the outlets’ awards for DII Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.
