American actor, author, and painter Gerald Tommaso DeLouise (April 30, 1940 – October 8, 2023), better known by his stage name Burt Young. According to several sources, Young was married to Gloria DeLouise for 13 years before she passed away in 1974. Their intimate history is shrouded in mystery. During his time at the Actor’s Studio in the ’60s, the actor from Roomies said in an exclusive interview that his marriage had hit a hard point.
“At home, I was not really content with the wife I had chosen. Plus, I hung out with another girl. When things aren’t going well with a certain person, you might think, “Oh, if I were with that other lady, things would be wonderful,” as Young revealed in an interview with Bright Lights Film Journal back in August of 2006.

Burt Young: From the Streets to the Silver Screen?
Young became famous for portraying tough, working-class Italian-Americans like Paulie, Rocky Balboa’s friend and future brother-in-law, in the 1976 film of the same name, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Talia Shire, who appears in the first five films, has a flashback appearance in the sixth, making him one of four actors (the others being Sylvester Stallone, Stu Nahan, and Tony Burton) to appear in all six Rocky films. In the 2015 picture Creed, Young’s character was said to have died in 2012, therefore he did not return to the part.
