On October 11, 2023, Allentown resident Julia Dweck passed away. Her loved ones and family members are deeply affected by hearing the news of her death. Jasmine Martin wrote, “Heaven gained an Angel… Mrs Julia Dweck was one of the most incredible humans/teachers I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.”

Who is in Julia Dweck’s Family?
On April 27, 1959, she was born in Huntington LI, New York and later relocated to NYC to pursue a career in comedy. After meeting Sheppard Dweck, Julia returned to Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she set up a life and a home.
On December 8, 1984, they exchanged vows in Spring Valley, New York. Their first son, Corey was born in 1987; Michael, their second son was born in 1990. Her mother Helen Greenberg, who turned 98 this year and sisters Ronnie Pearl of Toronto, Canada and Elyse Diamond of Las Vegas, Nevada are still alive.

Her brilliance, kindness and unshakeable spirit left a lasting impression on the world. Her career spans teaching, writing, leadership and partnerships with well-known book publishers and tech firms.
As a gifted resource teacher at Willow Lane Elementary in the EPSD (East Penn School District), Julia Dweck devoted 18 years of her life to the position. She was a priceless resource for the school community because of her knowledge and enthusiasm for education.
She excelled as a Creative instructor in the areas of coding, 3D printing and building robotics, giving students cutting-edge and interesting learning opportunities. With a wonderful collection of 29 beautifully drawn children’s books to her credit, Julia was a prolific author.
E-books, hardcovers and paperbacks are only a few of the different media in which she published her works. She inspired a love of books in young readers by engrossing them in her tales. Children and ad_lts alike adored her stories which had a profound effect on many children’s imaginations.
In addition to teaching, Julia Dweck served as a leader and a mentor. She committed herself to fostering emerging talent by founding the Talented Writers Mentoring Program at Columbia University in New York.
Her commitment to assisting emerging authors led to her inclusion into the CU Faculty Hall of Fame, which is evidence of her influence on the literary world. Collaborations with some of the top technological and publishing firms in the world resulted from Julia’s knowledge and creativity.
She developed independent courses and created teaching materials for children’s literature while working with well-known companies like Disney, Google and Penguin Random House. Her contributions to instructional materials improved the educational opportunities for pupils all across the world.
