His family and loved ones, all are devastated after his death. They shared heartfelt tributes towards Earl Exum on social media.

West Hartford Democrats shared a Facebook post after hearing the news of his death and wrote, “We were shocked and saddened by the unexpected passing this week of our friend and neighbor, Earl Exum.”

Urban League of Greater Hartford posted, “The Urban League of Greater Hartford is deeply saddened by the passing of long-standing Board member, Earl Exum.”

Michael Walsh tweeted, “Earl Exum, a top executive at Pratt & Whitney died unexpectedly.”

Who is in Earl Exum’s Family?

Earl was born in Queens, New York, on August 19, 1968. He was one of five children born to Earl R. Exum and Kathleen Exum.

Earl met the love of his life, Tammy Rush, by chance with a friend they both had in Atlanta, GA, in 1993. They got married in Charlotte, NC on September 30, 1995, looking forward to starting their new lives together.

Earl Exum’s Journey of Accomplishments

Before going to Cornell University to study Industrial Labor Relations, he went to Middles*x High School. He then got two master’s degrees, one in management from Purdue University and one in international business from Ecole Superieure de Commerce (ESC) de Rouen, France.

He has a certificate in management and business strategy from the University of Virginia. The National Association of Corporate Directors has also given him a certificate in being a director.

Earl Exum

Pratt & Whitney hired Earl in 1981 and put him in charge of International Aero Engines and Commercial Engines for more than 27 years. Earl worked at Pratt & Whitney in operations, service, overhaul and repair, materials management improvements all the time, sales and human resources.

He started and led Pratt & Whitney’s African American Forum, which is now called the Black Excellence Network. Earl also worked as an independent board director for the S&P 500 company A.O. Smith Corporation and was on the audit committee.
