Coy forged a partnership with Dope House Records and Universal Music Group in February 2000, resulting in the publication of three albums: “Time is Money,” “The Purity Album,” and “Never Change.” Despite the lack of success of his Universal recordings, Coy’s songs frequently explored filthy narratives of growing up in the barrio and embracing the party lifestyle, while also touching on themes of hard labor and aspiration for a better life.
