Dolphin Drilling, a division of Fred Olsen Energy ran the semi-submersible, column-stabilized drilling rig known as the Byford Dolphin. In the British, Danish and Norwegian portions of the North Sea, it conducted seasonal drilling for various businesses.
Prior to being destroyed in 2019, it was registered in Hamilton, Bermuda. You may read more about the serious accident below.
What Happened to the Byford Dolphin?
On November 5th, 1983, the Byford Dolphin was involved in a terrible diving accident. Four divers were drilling in the Frigg gas field in the Norwegian portion of the North Sea at 4:00 a.m. However, when their air tanks detonated they died instantly.
The accident was brought on by the opening of just one hatch during a regular process at such high pressures. The divers included Roy P. Lucas (Britain), Edwin Arthur Coward (Britain), Truls Hellevik (Sweden) and Bjrn Giaever Bergersen (Norway).

Helvic, a different man was ready to close the door between the chamber system and the trunk when the accident occurred. The rest of the divers died there and thereafter were instantly fired out the door and disfigured.
Helvic left the access log between the bell and the chamber open instead of closing it and when two dive tenders unhooked the hood thinking it was closed, a serious accident resulted. The nitrogen expanded, killing the divers and the blood in their bodies started to boil right away. Everything took place in a split second.

The Committee came to the conclusion after investigating the situation that someone accidentally opened the clamp, causing the accident additionally, it is an engineering failure. The entire accident stunned the entire world.

For those unclear on what happens with this sort of thing, the Byford Dolphin accident (Google it, but not before lunch) involved a pressure differential of about 10 atmospheres or so. This involved FIFTY times that much pressure. Paté is the word that comes to mind.
