Jimmy Buffett, a singer and entrepreneur best known for his hit song “Margaritaville,” which inspired a chain of restaurants and hotels with the same theme, has died. At the time of his death, he was 76 years old.
News of the music icon’s death was announced by his family on social media, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs.”

Jimmy Buffett’s cause of death is unknown yet. In the months before he died, Buffett was in and out of the hospital. He went to the hospital for the first time in May.
The show that Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band were going to play in Charleston, South Carolina had to be moved because they had to go to the hospital. At the time, Buffett wrote about the news on his personal website and on social media.

Buffett didn’t say what those problems were and he didn’t say anything about his health. A few months later, in July, he surprised people at a bar on the water in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, called Sunset Cove. After hearing the news of his death people are sharing their tributes towards him on social media.

Before he died, Jimmy was getting ready to put out a new record called Songs You Don’t Know by Heart. He put out more than 50 albums and wrote many famous songs over the course of his work. His hit songs “Margaritaville,” “Come Monday” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise” made him famous.
Most of his records have gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum. Buffett has played on stages all over the world and many of his concerts have sold out. During his work, he won awards from the Country Music Association and was put into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The singer was born in Mississippi’s Pascagoula and grew up in Alabama’s Mobile. Before he got into singing, he was a sailor for the fourth time in his family. In 1996, he got his license to fly seaplanes and planes that can take off and land on water.
