What Happened to Leclerc Today

Born on October 16, 1997, Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc races in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. In 2016, he took home the GP3 Series title and in 2017, he won the FIA Formula 2 Championship.

Leclerc, a graduate of the Ferrari Driver Academy, made his Formula One debut with the Ferrari-affiliated team Sauber in 2018. Although Sauber had finished dead last the year before, thanks to Leclerc’s efforts the team moved up to eighth place in the Constructors’ Championship. The following year, he signed up with Ferrari and made history by qualifying first for the Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix at the age of just 20.

What Happened to Leclerc Today?

Charles Leclerc said that his Ferrari lacked downforce by more than 60 points when he had to pull out of the Dutch Grand Prix. After making touch with Oscar Piastri of McLaren on the opening lap as rain began to pour, the Monégasque had a dreadful day at Zandvoort.

While under attack from Nico Hulkenberg of Haas and Valtteri Bottas of Alfa Romeo, Charles Leclerc fell through the field when a damaged front wing wasn’t repaired until his second pit stop.

After AlphaTauri rookie Liam Lawson passed him for 15th on lap 41, Ferrari decided to retire Leclerc since his condition was more serious than expected. “On the first lap when we had the damage, I could feel much more than the guys were telling me on the radio,” Leclerc said to reporters.

I’d say at first it was five to ten points, but later we figured out it was more like sixty. That’s a different class, so it was uphill from there.

We didn’t want to give up too soon, so we waited for it to rain because there are ways to play the game differently from the other team and potentially get one or two points. It was such a light touch, but it ended up severely damaging my car for some reason. For more updates like this, you can join us on our Twitter account.
