Persona fans were joyful when it was revealed that Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable would all be heading to the Nintendo Switch. However, Persona 3 FES fans were dismayed that the handheld version was being re-released instead of the original.
There was immediate talk of a Persona 3 remake that would redesign the game for modern platforms and add the missing functionality from the portable version. Now, Atlus has confirmed the remake’s existence, calling it Persona 3 Reload. Persona 3 Reload release date and supported platforms are all listed below.

Sega has announced that the remake of the classic PlayStation 2 role-playing game, Persona 3 Reload, will be released on February 2, 2024.

Persona 3 Reload, first unveiled during Summer Game Fest, updates the original game’s visuals and makes it playable on current-gen systems. It also includes a new soundtrack, enhanced quality-of-life features, party management, and bug fixes. Some fans will be disappointed to learn that the game does not have the female protagonist’s plot from Persona 3 Portable.

However, after getting our hands on Persona 3 Reload, we were able to appreciate the game for more than just its accessibility. A completely explorable map was one of the features missing from the handheld version of Persona 3 released on contemporary platforms. Persona 3 Reload is a major improvement compared to previous entries in the series.

It immediately distinguished itself from similar role-playing games (RPGs) because of its focus on a group of high school students combating otherworldly elements, dating sim aspects, and a unique calendar-based progression.
